Once a year, usually every October, when my eldest daughter is on her semester (college) break and her brother on fall (HS) break, is when we travel as a family. It’s this time of year, more than the Christmas holidays even, I look forward to. Because for seven full days (more or less), we are alone, in a place far away, and we get to bond, goof around and most of all deal with each one’s moods.  Actually,  more often than not, it’s just the Spunky M who steals the show…
This once a year “must” travel has been on going on for about 3-4 years now, started immediately when the Menca was born. We began this tradition in 2007. Sadly, because the Spunky M was only 6 months, we left her in the care of her Nana Rita, and we traveled to Sydney (that was super fun). Soon after, she came along and we have been choosing Asia as our destination Phuket, Bali….This year we chose to invade and discover: Taiwan. And yes, despite some drama, tantrums here and there, we had a blast”we always do! But let me tell you of our family adventure, all about “Fun In Taiwan” in another post. Watch out for that!  Meanwhile,  Happy Monday to all….and Happy Halloween!
Note: I have not been home in almost two weeks because of this flood situation happening in Bangkok. As I type this, I am in the south, in the sunny province of Pattaya. I should not complain, really, because I am in a gorgeous hotel with good food, free wi-fi and I can practically happy-hour-every afternoon! Yet, despite all these, I miss my home, my bed and my stuff!
selfish I am but I cannot help it! And I miss being with my complete family (Dani had to head back a week earlier because of this too, arghh!).
