Let’s talk fitness….
Not just any fitness, it’s OUTDOOR BOOTCAMP (btw, incidentally, I did say in a post I would write about it, well here it is) Hmmm, but what is it, really? I’m not even sure how to explain—I’ll try though, in simple phrases and bullet form, the best way I can…
- I do drills now like Tabata, A Min On The Min, 20 min workout, TRX, etc etc.
- I never do the same drills twice!
- I expect the unexpected
- I use all kinds of sports equipment (i.e. kettlebell, jump rope, elastic bands)
- I do routines and exercises against time or repetitions, but never the same in one session
- I compete against myself, which is harder at times (mind over matter is vital)
I know it’s quite confusing. But let me say this: I find strength in our trainer’s motivation, that’s why I have lasted two sets or exactly 20 sessions already! I know, right? And can I just brag that I’m much stronger now than when I started.
Proof : I can do frog push-ups, 10x without falling + do the sweep, also 10x without getting off balanced.
And let me add one more thing: I sweat with nature then my happy hormones come out:-)
I can try to convince you in so many words but I think it’s best if you look at the images I posted— my take is , it’s either you hate it or you will fall in love with the whole thing:-) I know, twice a week seems like I torture myself doing this but I am having fun! In fact, I think my running was put aside too much because of this ….yikes! On the contrary though, I feel that I am a stronger runner because of this! Plus, (I think ) doing bootcamp is a good cross training to any sport.
That said, what’s my (a.M.oT’s) recommendation: Try it! And be a happy (BOOT)CAMPER like me:-)
