I love craft, yet crafting was never my thing (har har har). It’s so funny how I love (craft) materials and yes I do have everything in my possession — ribbons, stamps, buttons, pools of threads in different colors, needles, pins, rolls of wrapping papers, stacks of textiles, shaped punchers, cards, etc… — but in reality, I have never really crafted anything major. Especially if it involves sewing. Needles, threads and me, we just don’t go together. But of late, I have been dying to try it out and have been wanting to attend a simple craft or sewing class. And what luck! A friend from facebook, a very good sewer herself with a successful children’s clothing line to prove it, posted this:
CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS & WREATH WORKSHOP.
Bring the Christmas mood into your home handmade style!
My friend Donatella is running a fun workshop to make Christmas felt decorations here in Bangkok. You’ll learn how to make 2D, 3D Christmas Tree Ornaments from felt, and a Wreath! No particular skills required, but experience in basic cutting and stitching skills will be an advantage.
As soon as I saw this, I didn’t think twice and booked a seat. Though it took me forever to complete one project, one simple ornament ball, it was the best two hours of my life! Here’s what transpired during the best two hours, which I must say is not enough and I want more!!!
“The difference between art and craft lies not in the tools you hold in your hands, but in the mental set that guides them. For the artisan, craft is an end in itself. For you, the artist, craft is the vehicle for expressing your vision. Craft is the visible edge of art.”
Thank you Donatella for making this possible for me! And for someone who has not held a needle and thread for more than 30 yrs (yes its true!) I ‘d say not bad.
For future craft workshops in Bangkok, contact her via donut@libero.it She promises to create more therapy for the soul, soon!

What a delightful posting! Looks like you’re born to create art in whatever you do. Happy that you enjoyed it and look forward to seeing more whiz crafts from you. Everyone seem to have enjoyed their time with Donatella, she is a delight too.
And thank you for the sweet mention in your posting.
