Summer is officially here and I found a tote to go with it — my Jim Thompson Manhattan Tote. I am so much into print and such a tote lover too , that I couldn’t care less that it’s not as colorful as it should be— whatuthink? [Read more...]
Shop Crush :: Yesterday Once Again
Home stores in Bangkok are fabulous. In the past two, almost three years that we have been based here, super home stores have sprouted left and right — Ikea for one! They are good and wide spaces but quite overwhelming at times. That’s why it’s a breath of fresh air when you stumble upon independent and local shops with fabulous furniture and home accessories in the most unexpected places, such like Yesterday Once Again.
I pass by this space almost everyday. Just like this chic store I discovered and blogged about before, Yesterday Once Again is located in the most unexpected place, sandwiched between local hardware shops and small food stalls. It’s like finding gold in a mountain of rubbish, so to speak.
And who can ever forget the name? Yesterday Once Again as familiar as it seems (and you must have guessed it right) is sort of named after a famous Carpenter song (Yesterday Once More). Of course, I just had to ask why such a name:-) and as explained by Khun Hui, owner and manager, it was her father’s fondness for this song that he just had to somehow name his shop after it (he just replaced once more to once again). When her father passed 8 yrs ago , Khun Hui inherited the business and has been running it since.
Pick Your Cam In 6 Steps {Photo Talk}
When people find out I am a photographer I am often asked this: What is the best camera? And this: Canon or Nikon (or whatever brand they know)? In fact, just last week while having tea with Martine of Dainty Mom—which was btw, super fun and a super inspired meeting, at this new tea place, Da.u.de — she did pop these two questions.
In the beginning I stumble on how and what to answer. The questions are simple but the replies, the thought bubbles in my head, can get quite lengthy and I end up answering, I will email you — Ha! Because of this, I formulated a 6-tip step -plan. A simple guideline one can easily remember when buying a camera …not in any order but for me, these are all important… [Read more...]
!MO Camera Strap {Happy Finds}
Even when I am in my photographer mode I want to look stylish. So, I’ve been wanting to replace my boring “Canon “camera strap and have been searching, scouring even, BKK and Manila for a cute yet durable one. I need something that can hold my humongous equipment + the lens attached to it, and at the same time look cool, plus should be comfy too. Unfortunately I found nothing while doing my usual rounds, so again it was internet shopping to the rescue. Thank goodness I came across !MO Camera Straps.
Reading the reviews and testimonials, it’s everything I want in a strap — Handmade + Durable + Comfy . Then when I visited their site, I was floored to find out they had loads of designs to choose from. And yet again most of their design fit my taste — Cool + Edgy + Stylish . I knew with what I saw and read, I just had to order one. OMG, everything was so cute! I practically wanted every design available! In the end I chose: Black Romance. In less than five days of placing my order, four days to be exact, it arrived!!! Now that was fast! Yipee!!

packaging is cute and simple
Shop Crush:: Again & Again {Vintage Glam}
There may be several vintage shops in the city of Bangkok, but there is only one synonymous to vintage fashion glam — Again & Again.
Located in the very posh area of Thonglor, Again & Again is the place to go when you want to be dressed and styled into something vintage spectacular. The shop boasts of over a thousand items for both women and men alike— from casual to glamorous— curated by the owner herself, who is one of Bangkok’s hi-so (high society), Khun Masiri. (Khun (ขุน, short vowel, rising tone) is a former royally bestowed Thai noble title roughly equivalent to baronet— via Wikipedia) [Read more...]
